• A French legend in its own right… When the Simplex chair was created in 1889, it created quite a stir: light and easy to fold, it enabled French café owners to set up ephemeral ‘terraces’, hence avoiding the hefty taxes applied to permanent ones.

  Fermob bought the patent and refined the concept: Chaise Bistro was born. Would the globally celebrated culture of French cafés terrasses have known the same fate without the providential help of this chair? 120 years later, Fermob designed a lounge version of the iconic chair. Compact, foldable and easy to handle, the stylish Chaise longue Bistro comes in a choice of 25 colours.
